EMPLOYMENT LAW

The labour and employment laws of the UAE are more complex than people in western countries sometines think.  Employment is generally governed by a UEA Federal Law, being Federal Law No. 8 for 1980.  However, in the Dubai International Financial Centre ("DIFC"), a completely different labour law is in force.  And, because the UAE is a rapidly modernising society, the law of labour and employment are changing rapidly.  Please contact Victor Leginsky for up-to-the-minute advice.

Here is a link to the labour laws of the United Arab Emirates - in English.  See it for yourself, here.  Please note that this law is not applicable in the Dubai International Financial Centre, or DIFC.  There are a number of free zones in the UAE.  Employment law can vary in these zones. Please contact Victor for details.
